Eric Du is the General Manager at Oak Steakhouse in Alexandria, Virginia. Originally from West Windsor, New Jersey, Eric studied chemical and biomolecular engineering at Johns Hopkins University. After three years of studies, Eric made a career pivot to the hospitality industry and began serving and bartending at The Cheesecake Factory in Baltimore, MD. From there, he was hired as the Assistant Manager at Bo Brooks Restaurant & Catering, one of the oldest crab houses in Baltimore. Most recently, Eric has spent the last two years as the Assistant General Manager and Sommelier for The Oceanaire Seafood Room in Washington, D.C. Eric joined the opening team at Oak Steakhouse Alexandria in April 2019 and is most excited about offering guests an experience that is authentic and memorable. Eric also makes a point to learn from his team every day while also creating an engaging, well-rounded workplace that keeps up with the changing trends and innovations within the industry. When he isn’t working, Eric can be found in his home recording studio, singing and songwriting, as well as planning his next camping or hiking trip, or trying out new spots in his Arlington, VA neighborhood.
